What is Anja's creative process?
ALEXANDRA : We have a collection of timeless pieces that we adapt each season with new colors or new materials. For the other swimwear, we draw a lot of inspiration from the ready-to-wear fashion shows, the desires of our customers and the team. Then we go in search of prints and fabrics. It has to be a team favorite! Everyone participates and gives their opinion on the styles at Anja's. Lucie also takes the opportunity to schedule more commercial models for professional clients. It's like everywhere: there has to be a balance between creativity and business.
ALEXANDRA : By watching old fashion shows, drawing inspiration from certain forgotten trends, photos from old albums, and photo exhibitions. Recently in Venice, there was an exhibition at the Pinault Foundation, and a photo inspired a model for 2025.
What are your earliest memories of clothing?
ALEXANDRA My mother used to dress me in smocked dresses of such quality that I recently found them and gave them to my friends for their daughters, and especially to Lucie for her future princess. It's extraordinary how much the clothes of the time were made to last!
Do you have any advice for people who are still reluctant to buy vintage?
ALEXANDRA : Vintage also means bringing out clothes that you haven't worn for a long time, your parents' jackets, and jewelry too. I'm all for sorting, but it's so magical to keep iconic pieces to pass on to future generations.
