Mochilas are made in the far north of the Wayuu region of Colombia. Their weaving method is a complex art entirely done by hand and passed down from mother to daughter for generations. The colors and patterns of each bag are meant to be an expression of the creator's cosmological worldview. It takes approximately 20 days to make a mochila. It is unique and cannot be duplicated.
